Keeping your website in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is very important for all real estate professionals who utilize digital marketing. We worked with the legal team of the Florida Association of Realtors to ensure that the AgentID Sites we provide to Marketing Club members were ADA compliant, following all the requirements laid out in this webinar.
We have therefore added Accessibility Statements to all active AgentID Sites sites. These statements help your users to understand the extent to which your site, app, products, and services are accessible, particularly to visitors with disabilities.
The Accessibility Statements can be found in the footer of your AgentID Site (which appears on all pages of your site). See an example here: http://chrisscott.online/accessibility
IMPORTANT NOTE: These Accessibility Statements are not currently editable by you the user. If you see any issues with yours, please let us know at support@thepaperlessagent.com.
What About Accessibility Widgets?
There are website plugins called "accessibility widgets" that you may hear are necessary to have installed on your site in order for that site to be ADA compliant. We encourage you to double-check all legal recommendations with your broker.
However, we do not believe that an accessibility widget is necessary on your site. Moreover, there has been a lot of press recently from disabled people and their advocates that they don't actually do anything to improve the experience of a website. It's often just a way to get you to pay something extra.
Regardless, please note that our AgentID Sites do not currently allow for the installation of widgets, and we do not have a plan to implement that feature in the near future. They make the sites overly complex, and that's not our goal with this particular product offering.
